Habitat
Meadow Brown is a grassland butterfly which uses several grass species
as larval foodplants. Rough grasslands, hedgerows, roadside verges,
tracks in farmland or woodland all provide suitable habitat.
Conservation Issues
The Meadow Brown is one of our commonest butterflies, and under no
apparent threat at present.
Flight PeriodMainly from mid June to mid or late August.
